Based between New York and Shanghai, Yucheng Liu is a multidisciplinary designer and the founder of the independent visual design studio, Common Well.

Holding a Bachelor of Science in Technical Design (Summa Cum Laude) from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), Yucheng built his structural foundation in the rigorous environments of Thom Browne, Reformation, and Hood By Air. His extensive experience in garment construction and 3D product development translates seamlessly into his current practice: bridging the gap between flat conceptualization and tangible reality with exact precision.

Rather than adhering to a singular aesthetic dogma, Yucheng draws his creative energy from a wealth of life experiences and extensive explorations across diverse fields. His professional footprint spans musicians' visual identities, food and beverage experiences, community building, independent film, independent media, photography, fashion engineering, and editorial print. This cross-disciplinary journey has cultivated a unique ability to synthesize various streams of culture, allowing him to discover and execute a highly diverse range of aesthetic forms.

At Common Well, Yucheng is dedicated to turning small, sincere activities and raw ideas from diverse industries into concrete design realities. His creative footprint is deeply embedded in New York’s multifaceted urban ecosystem: revitalizing brand identities for local brick-and-mortar businesses like independent restaurants and hair salons, crafting dynamic event posters for art exhibitions and community gatherings, elevating product development and visual packaging for designer brands, and directing album artwork and visual publishing for musicians. Whether producing a 2026 New York Calendar playfully housed in a custom pizza box (launched via a curated bookstore reception), developing 100% PRIVATE—an independent zine exploring the intimate spaces of New Yorkers—or serving as the visual director for NYC art bookstore Accent Sisters and indie band P.H.0, he excels at finding the common thread across cultural slices. Through his work, design acts as a bridge connecting commercial entities, independent publishing, and the music scene, ensuring every genuine spark of cross-industry creativity is meticulously crafted into an enduring physical artifact.

共井是由设计师 Yucheng 创建并发起的设计品牌，我们的使命是为不同领域的创意工作者提供系统而富有想象力的综合性设计服务。我们始终相信，真正优秀的设计，应当是在“有趣”与“商业”之间形成精准共振。

“共井”之名，凝练了我们的设计哲学：从视觉结构上看，这两个汉字的构形呼应了通用网格系统中秩序与变奏的关系，在理性框架之内容纳富于玩味的不规则律动；从意象层面而言，我们自比一口深井，向下扎根，从多元流派与不同视角中汲取灵感的清泉。而在更深的意义上，CommonWell 指向“共”与“通”——通过设计创造具有普世感知力、能够跨越语境并引发共鸣的作品。
